As I sit here and look at this picture, it becomes more and more clear to me, as it has to so many others, that there is a grander scheme at work here. The GOP and it' major political operatives such as Karl Rove, have been seething ever since this Black President took office. Sure, the RNC had a token Black man running it's fund raising - but only as long as it took them to get back in some semblance of power. Did you not notice that as soon as they won back the House, Michael Steele was out the door? Even before they took back control, the party was grumbling about how he was handling things. The truth is, this has NOTHING to do with the effectiveness of this president. In my opinion- IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH RACE!
The good old WHITE boys are losing their grasp and they don't like it. Everything they have posited in the past couple of months has to do with striking at the poorest folks, women and immigrants in this country. There are some of those in that party who have even suggested that we, as a nation, go back to having only those who own land being able to vote. Talk about disenfranchising! But this is their last hurrah, their last hope for a power grab. They will perpetrate as many out-and-out lies as they can get away with to get into office. We have seen this play out in the Union-busting scheme Scott Walker is attempting in Wisconsin and others have thought about in Indiana, New Jersey, Maine and the like.
So, let me ask the folks who put these governors in office...
When people move out of your state, or can't afford their homes, where will your revenue come from then?
What is it about truth? Oh, yeah, according to German Philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer it pass through 3 stages:
First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.I think we are in the second stage, and it scares the hell out of me, I just hope hard working Americans wake up to the scam being perpetrated upon them by those few Corporate magnates who wish to have things back to the way it was when they ran the country and the disparity between the rich and everyone else was even greater. Back then, there was essentially no middle class. The American Dream was just that, a dream...
I think what the Get-Over-Party is doing, stinks.
Many people think they're in a "race" to be THE "race" to keep another "race" in it's "place"! And they have the backing of a powerful organization to lend them support, namely, Murdoch's Mentally Myopic Musings Manipulating Mass Media Making Moguls MORE Money Machine, or more commonly known as Fox News which is just one tentacle of News Corporation!
ReplyDeleteManiacally Maddening!
Interestingly, that propaganda machine is very much like the propaganda machine of the Third Reich. If you are not of and for them then you are surely against them with no possibility of discourse.
ReplyDeleteI truly believe that at it's heart, the vitriol we have seen in the past two years, would have not come to pass had this President been White and THAT is a very sad statement on the politics of the country. What it says to me is that we have not come as far as many would like us to believe and I happen to think the man in the oval office is the man I want in that office when 12-21-2012 comes around.
Can you imagine the look on W's face if something like 12-21-2012 were to happen on his watch? All I see is the dumbfounded look on his face when he was told about the twin towers...
Come far? If you were to ask me prior to the last election that racism will be declared over if a Black man was voted president, I would have asked you, "Would you believe that Republicans could cross party lines to elect a Black man so they can blame him for the mess that George W. Bush made and thereby regain the White House in 2012? That it's been their plan all along? Why did they put up John McCain, with his sidekick Sarah Palin, so they would lose the election?". So, with this in mind, I will say that, no, racism is not gone. Not only is it not gone, it's back with a vengeance!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know a little about racism as I am a descendent of two tribes of Man that have seen more than their fair share of racism, namely, Cherokee and Jewish ancestors! I got the double whammy of a genetic pool!
Oh, and to follow up on your comment about GWB's facial expression when planes were flown in to the Twin Towers, I thought that was one of the more intelligent I had seen appear on his face up to and after that moment in time. Didn't you notice how he seemed deliberative as his head nodded side to side. He ACTUALLY looked like he was having a thought process going on! But hindsight indicates that what was rattling around in his head was, "I wonder when Dick is going to tell me what to do?". The joke that was floating around at the time was, "You know this country is in trouble now that we have a Dick, a Colin and a Bush in charge!".
ReplyDeleteCan't give the Repubs that much credit for that big a conspiracy. It would take too many people and someone would have eventually spilled the beans to someone they shouldn't have. It's only human nature.
ReplyDeleteThere is a big force behind the GOP and it is not the Koch Bros. nor is it Karl Rove. They are the distractions. There is something else at work here, just haven't quite figured out what it is
It wasn't as complicated as you think. Don't you recall how cold Republicans were to McCain and how they cried about how he wasn't one of them? Ever heard a dog whistle? Niether have I...but those Rethuglicans are tuned in to their version.
ReplyDeleteJust because you didn't see or hear anything does not mean there wasn't! And you must remember, I LIVE in a 90% Republican county here in Ohio! Most of the people I rub shoulders with are Repubs! Most of my family are Repubs. If that chit could rub off on a person, I would be eaten alive with it! Nut I huess I had an innoculation at an early age! LOL!
But I guess...edited. sorry 'bout that.
